The stationary training bike is the most common, effective, comfortable and popular device for fitness at home and in clubs. The training bike at home enables every sports and healthy lifestyle enthusiast with a small free space in the living room to train every day. Fitness bikes are also recommended during rehabilitation as comfortable and safe exercise equipment. Activity on an training bike will also be an excellent form of relaxation, after combining exercise with watching a movie, TV or reading a book.

In addition, the weather conditions are sometimes not conducive to field trips by bike. Which can lead to neglect of training. Therefore, in order to stay in shape, it is worth buying an training bike for home. In recent years, many models have appeared on the market, making it difficult to choose the right one. What should you know before buying?

Which training bike to choose?
When choosing an training bike, it is worth paying attention to several important parameters. Belong to them:
Weight of the exercising person - more expensive models are most often more durable and can be used by people up to 150 kg. On the other hand, cheaper ones are usually intended for people weighing up to 100 kg. Of course, this is not a rule, but it is worth checking this parameter.
Adjustment of the saddle and handlebar/grips - appropriate settings of these elements in relation to each other, affect the safety of training and help prevent injuries. Therefore, it is worth checking whether the range of adjustment of the saddle, handlebars and handles is appropriate for your height.
Dimensions and weight of the device - people who have little space at home can choose a model with a lower weight and smaller dimensions. Due to this, such a domestic bike can be easily moved.
Bike with electronic equipment - allows you to control the intensity of training and progress. Electronic modules are found in more expensive models.
Bike Brand - There are many manufacturers on the market that offer cheap home bikes, but they are not always reliable. Some components can wear out quickly and are not available on the market. That is why it is worth investing in equipment from reputable companies, which include, among others: Zipro, Kettler, HMS and BH Fitness.

Home training bike - popular models
There are different types of home training bikes. They differ in many ways, so be sure to read them carefully to make the right choice.

Upright bike
The upright bike is the most popular model, used for home training, which is as close as possible to riding a traditional bike. Vertical bikes are offered by reputable companies, including: Zipro, BH Fitness and Kettler. It is a convenient training equipment, because the position of the exerciser can be fully upright or slightly tilted forward - according to the settings of the handlebar and saddle. The vertical models have various options to set the training intensity. Some people like recreational riding in an urban style, while others do intense workouts - similar to rallies or bike races. This type of fitness equipment can be used by young and old people, after setting the appropriate training parameters.

Recumbent bike
For people with back problems, a stationary recumbent bike will be perfect. In this model, training takes place in an almost lying position, which does not burden the spine. The seat has a comfortable backrest that stabilizes the back, while the pedals are pushed forward. The distance between these elements is adjustable. Such training strengthens the muscles of the legs and abdomen. A horizontal stationary bike works well for elderly people who have problems with balance, obese people and those after severe injuries. That is why it is also used as a rehabilitation bike. This type of equipment can be found, among others, by Zipro, HMS and BH Fitness.

Spinning bike
The spinning bike is designed for high-intensity training. The person exercising is strongly inclined forward, similar to riding a road racing bike. The drive is transferred from the connecting rod to the flywheel by means of a chain and creates the appropriate resistance. This type of home bike is designed for people who want to train intensively to strengthen their condition. It is also used by professionals who do not want to take a break in field training, e.g. due to weather conditions. This type of fitness bike is offered, among others, by by BH Fitness, Kettler and Zipro.

Stationary bike - types of resistance systems
The stationary bicycle may have a chain drive that most closely resembles that of a road bicycle, or transferred to a flywheel by means of a pedal-driven connecting rod. Home training bikes have a variety of resistance mechanisms, and more advanced bikes have electronic modules. Popular models include:

Mechanical training bike - is a simple model that is intended for less advanced users. The resistance during training is adjustable by a dial. It is caused by a roll or a tape against which the flywheel rubs. Service and possible repair is easy, even for people without much experience. A mechanical bicycle is relatively cheap.

Magnetic training bike - has an advanced mechanism of creating resistance during training. It is intended for advanced and demanding users. The resistance is produced by a magnetic brake and its maximum degree is much higher than that of a mechanical system. This home bike is also chosen by people who value quiet operation of the device. It is available, among others offered by HMS.

Electric-magnetic training bike - a bike for the gym and home training, intended for the most demanding users. In addition to the magnetic brake, it is equipped with an electronic system. The user can choose the training program to which the system will automatically adjust the degree of resistance - according to his fatigue, time, etc. This is a more expensive bike for advanced users. The electronic module can be connected to the phone and using the Iconsole + application, follow the training progress in real time. Another interesting option is the Kinomap application which allows the user to take part in a virtual race. This type of equipment is available, among others offered by Bh Fitness.

Training on a stationary bike is a great alternative to off-road riding. Therefore, people who want to keep fit, but cannot use a traditional bicycle for various reasons, should equip themselves with such equipment. It is worth remembering that properly selected physical activity strengthens the cardiovascular system, helps lower bad cholesterol, increases lung efficiency and strengthens the muscles of the legs.
